Mumbai: 164 v/s Chennai: 180
Well this one was pending for past 3 months.... here it goes...
To this cricket crazy nation, this title would look like Ranji match or lately IPL/ICL score. Though some would recognize correctly what Mumbai - 164 means and very few souls would ever get what Chennai - 180 means. I would not further hurt your ignorant mind and will divulge, Mumbai - 164 is the number of people who died in one of the most daring terrorist attacks on Indian soil. Chennai 180, well is the number of people who died in and around Chennai due to cyclone Nisha around same time as Mumbai attacks were being covered "live" by all prestigious and other gossip channels (read hindi news channels).
Well you might think I am again one of those who is blogging to write "Enough is enough". Not precisely, I am writing here vent my anger on all those people who felt outraged by Mumbai incident. Why were they not outraged when terrorists bombed Delhi, Ahmedabad, Jaipur in recent times and where were they when so many innocent people have died till now. Just because the attacks happened in Taj and Oberoi where who's who of rich people are found does not mean that "Enough is enough". Media hijacked the whole thing that any other thing which happened in the country was ignored. Well 180 (16 more than Mumbai) died due to cyclone Nisha around the same time, so what, we should not sympathize with them just because those died here were mostly poor and because they died of natural calamity? No, a human life is equal and this should be remembered by all including the people who felt outraged by the deaths in Mumbai. For me, these 164 people who died are in the queue of names who I feel should get justice, list is very large, for me it starts with tens and thousands of people who died in Bhopal, tens and thousands who have died in terrorist attacks and thousands of innocent souls who have lost their lives in numerous riots in the country. Then these 164 people who lost their lives stands.
May Allah give them peace. and provide justice to all.
